ABPlus has been operating now in Birmingham for ten years, and in all this time we have been able to help many thousands of people whose lives have been affected by HIV and AIDS. This includes being able to help men and women whose life has been changed by HIV. The organisation also helps families of people who very much need social support, this included helping many people from diverse backgrounds like Asian and African women and their children who have had their life devastated by AIDS. Besides social support, as an organisation we offer free and confidential advice and HIV testing. Yet the difficulty with any charitable organisation is always going to be funding, this is why we try to arrange different fundraising events to help meet these demands. The money raised at different events, helps to keep an essential service going for many hundreds of individuals and their families from many different cultural sections of the community. One of the ways we have decided to raise money this year is to have a charity auction, this being where donated items are sold off to the highest bidder. This event will be held on 25 November, which is just before World Aids Day. This is the reason I have written this ad, as I would like to ask anyone, if you have any unwanted gifts, presents or items that were bought and now are lying around still as new, but very much unwanted, and would like to donate these to the charity auction, then this level of help would be very greatly appreciated.
